Membrane Properties Resource provides an inventory of the major types of membrane properties involved in rapid signaling between neurons and modulation of that signaling. It is intended to give students and research workers an up-to-date resource for these properties. It also indicates to database users the full range of properties from which the subsets of properties that are tracked in the different databases were taken. The classification of channels and receptors and their subunits is in terms of currently accepted nomenclature based on genes and gene products.
