How to Cite Senselab's Model Database (ModelDB)

When you use ModelDB to provide models from your publications please include a statement in the text of your paper similar to the following example:

"The ModelDB accession number for the Kv3.1 channel models reported in this paper is 3454."

When you obtained models from ModelDB please cite the paper(s) from which model information contributed to your publication and ModelDB. These papers appear under "reference(s):" in the model description page (ShowModel.asp). Here is an example:

(after citing the papers that the models came from) ... "These network models used in the present study were obtained from ModelDB (accession numbers 76883, 83514, and 83562)."

If you cite ModelDB in a neuroinformatics infrastructure context (usually does not occur in a modeling paper) you can cite one or both of the following papers:

Hines ML, Morse T, Migliore M, Carnevale NT, Shepherd GM.
ModelDB: A Database to Support Computational Neuroscience.
J Comput Neurosci. 2004 Jul-Aug;17(1):7-11.

Migliore M, Morse TM, Davison AP, Marenco L, Shepherd GM, Hines ML.
ModelDB: making models publicly accessible to support computational neuroscience.
Neuroinformatics. 2003;1(1):135-9.

Thanks for your support!

Email the ModelDB Administrator for further clarification, to ask questions, suggest improvements,or send comments.
