Models that contain the Modeling Application : COMSOL (Home Page)

("The COMSOL Multiphysics simulation environment facilitates all the steps in the modeling process – defining your geometry, meshing, specifying your physics, solving, and then visualizing your results. It also serves as a platform for the application specific modules. Model set-up is quick, thanks to a number of predefined physics interfaces for applications ranging from fluid flow and heat transfer to structural mechanics and electrostatics. Material properties, source terms, and boundary conditions can all be spatially varying, time-dependent, or functions of the dependent variables. You can freely mix physics interfaces into new multiphysics combinations as well as couple with any application specific module.")

1.  Modeling extracellular electrical stimulation (Tahayori et al. 2012)
"The validity of approximate equations describing the membrane potential under extracellular electrical stimulation (Meffin et al 2012 J. Neural Eng. 9 065005) is investigated through finite element analysis in this paper. To this end, the finite element method is used to simulate a cylindrical neurite under extracellular stimulation. Laplace's equations with appropriate boundary conditions are solved numerically in three dimensions and the results are compared to the approximate analytic solutions. ..."
