Subunits alpha2, beta, alpha3, were found to be associated with receptor properties such as efficacy and desensiutization. Celllular localization of receptors unclear, but presumably on soma (?) (Sergeeva OA and Haas HL, 2001360 ). Strychnine-sensitive glycine receptors are present on a subpopulation of the cholinergic interneurons in rat caudatoputamen, supporting the hypothesis that (excitatory) glycine receptors inducing striatal release of [(3)H]acetylcholine may be localized to cholinergic neurons (Darstein M et al, 2000362 ).
